Melody of Ice

Xen makes a sound which is half sigh, half growl of frustration under her breath.
"She carries poisons with her, Kori. Your trusting nature is endearing, but haven't you considered we're being tailed? And suddenly, the least inconspicuous merc in all of the celestia suddenly invites herself to travel with us?"

Kori sighs and leans against a nearby wall "That does bother me, however she seems to make them herself and has a strong knowledge of herbs. so she has to be a apothecary of sorts"

"Next time she puts a knife to my throat, I'll snap her arm with it."

"And she asked for it." responds Xen, bluntly.

Kori sighs and walks away "just be back before sundown..."

"Ah." Xen retorts, turning to face her companion's back "So I'm under a curfew now?"

Kori sighs "or take Minori, your choice" she pops out from in front of him and does a cute wave at her

"Safety in numbers is your philosophy, I understand?"
She rolls her eyes and beguns to walk away /I've survived well enough without an escort so far.../

Minori runs up to her and holds onto her cloak, smiling up at her..

Kori wakes away back to the inn

Shortly, the pair wander through the streets. The city manages to retain the tatty, makeshift air of a common slum despite the innovative nature of its residents. Everything has been used and re-used, perhaps not so much from a desire not to waste as the attitude that a piece of material is still good after its third, fifth, tenth reincarnation.

Minori hums a little tune to herself, happily walking through the street before the slight wind surrounding her messes up one of the near by angels into bumping right into her "Ooh! sorry..." the angel gets up and flies away

/Strange to see them down here...

Xen shakes the thought from her mind, and it is quickly replaced by a plan just slightly indecorous in nature.

"Minori, if you don't mind my asking, how old are you... actually?"

Minori looks up, in a thinking matter, her finger on her chin "hmm....about 200 or so? well thats been how long since my incident at the lake"

Xen smiles brightly
"Great! You're old enough to drink, then!"

"but.....thats like.......12 in 'human years'" she cowardly ponders to herself

"Old enough, old enough!" Xen quickly reassures, dismissively.

probably getting pulled around the town by Xen "b-b-but i just want milk!"

"I have some research to do, okay?" she responds nonchalantly, not looking back as she wanders into a suitably suspect-looking bar.

Minori looks around shyly, and goes off into a ally by herself, before coming back out as her adult form, in kimono, walking into the bar and sitting next to Xen

Xen has to double take at the sudden change.

"Okay!" she begins, already clutching a glass of dark, rich rum of the sort probably drunk on pirate ships and probably containing a few more suspect ingredients than fermented sugarcane. "So, what do you like drink?"

she shyly looks down but then back up "i'd like some milk..."

"White wine it is, then!"

she sighs and puts her head down on the bar, crossing her arms around her head

Having ordered, Xen returns to her companion and unceremoniously plonks herself back down onter her seat at the bar.


The male staggers backwards. That will be a black eye in the morning.
